Pastry Chef De Partie supports the Pastry Chef in creating exceptional pastries and desserts, ensuring the highest standards of taste, presentation, and creativity at The Post.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and execution of pastry and dessert recipes.
- Contribute creative ideas to enhance the dessert menu.
- Work closely with the Pastry Chef to ensure consistency in quality.
- Execute and plate desserts according to established standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized pastry kitchen, following hygiene standards.
- Assist in inventory management, including monitoring stock levels and ordering supplies.
- Collaborate with the pastry team to create new and innovative dessert offerings.
- Follow health and safety regulations in the pastry kitchen.
- Participate in training sessions and skill development programs.
- Support the Pastry Chef in mentoring and guiding junior pastry staff.
- Assist in managing kitchen equipment and ensuring its proper maintenance.
- Contribute to the success of special events by creating appealing dessert displays.
- Stay informed about industry trends and incorporate new techniques.
Skills & Experience
- Culinary degree or equivalent qualification, with a focus on pastry arts.
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef de Partie or in a similar role.
- Passion for pastry and desserts, with a creative and detail-oriented approach.
- Knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and presentation.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure kitchen environment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a culinary setting.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift pastry equipment, and work in a dynamic kitchen environment.
