Our client is looking for a Warehouse Operations Assistant to join their team in Windsor. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a combination of office-based administrative work and hands-on warehouse operations.
In this role, you will play an important part in coordinating shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, preparing documentation, supporting warehouse activities, and communicating with carriers, suppliers, production teams, and internal departments.

What You’ll Be DoingWarehouse & Logistics Operations
- Support the day-to-day operations of the warehouse to ensure materials and products move efficiently.
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments with carriers, suppliers, production teams, and other departments.
- Schedule inbound and outbound deliveries and ensure all required information is available before shipments arrive or depart.
- Assign dock numbers and coordinate trailer movements within the facility.
- Confirm cargo, shipment quantities, and required documentation.
- Scan and record incoming raw materials using PDA or warehouse scanning devices.
- Record trailer activity, forklift activity, loading and unloading times, and other operational information.
- Identify and report damaged materials, shortages, incorrect shipments, or documentation discrepancies.
- Assist warehouse staff with daily operational tasks when required.
Shipping & Receiving Support
- Prepare and organize shipping and receiving documentation.
- Maintain accurate receiving logs and shipping records.
- Verify incoming and outgoing materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and system records.
- Coordinate with carriers to confirm pickup and delivery schedules.
- Ensure shipments are properly documented, staged, and ready for transportation.
- Communicate delays, shortages, damages, or other shipment issues to the appropriate teams.
- Help ensure shipping and receiving activities are completed accurately and on schedule.
Inventory & Administrative Support
- Maintain accurate inventory records and update information in WMS/ERP systems.
- Assist with inventory reconciliation, cycle counts, and material tracking.
- Process and maintain purchase orders, invoices, and supplier communications.
- Assist with order processing and ensure orders are fulfilled within required timelines.
- Prepare daily and weekly logistics, inventory, and warehouse reports.
- Compile information from warehouse activities and distribute reports to management and internal departments.
- Maintain organized electronic and paper records.
- Support general administrative duties related to warehouse and logistics operations.
Production & Quality Coordination
- Communicate with production teams to ensure required materials are available when needed.
- Coordinate with quality teams regarding incoming materials, inspections, and discrepancies.
- Help identify potential material shortages that could affect production.
- Maintain accurate records to support production planning and warehouse efficiency.
- Follow company procedures and assist with maintaining consistent operational standards.
Safety & Compliance
- Maintain and organize safety-related documentation, including audits, permits, procedures, and SOPs.
- Follow all company health and safety policies and warehouse procedures.
- Ensure required documentation is completed accurately and on time.
- Report safety concerns, equipment issues, or operational hazards to management.
- Promote a clean, organized, and safety-focused warehouse environment.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who can confidently balance administrative responsibilities with hands-on warehouse operations.
The ideal candidate will have:
- At least 2 years of experience in logistics, warehouse operations, shipping/receiving, or operations support.
- Previous experience working in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of shipping and receiving processes.
- Experience preparing shipping documents, receiving records, and inventory documentation.
- Experience coordinating deliveries, carriers, suppliers, or transportation schedules.
- Strong inventory tracking and record-keeping skills.
- Experience using WMS, ERP, SAP, or other inventory management systems is an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when entering and reviewing information.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage changing deadlines.
- Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
- Comfortable communicating with warehouse employees, supervisors, carriers, suppliers, and other departments.
- Forklift certification is an asset.

This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys being involved in the action while also handling the administrative side of warehouse operations.
You should be comfortable moving between computer work, documentation, inventory tracking, communicating with carriers, coordinating shipments, and assisting the warehouse team when needed.
Someone with experience as a shipping clerk, logistics coordinator, warehouse administrator, inventory coordinator, shipping/receiving clerk, or operations assistant may be well suited for this opportunity.
Shift Requirements
This position requires availability for rotating continental shifts, including:
- Day shifts
- Midnight shifts
Candidates must be comfortable working a rotating schedule and adjusting to changing shift assignments as required by the operation.
