Lead Maintenance Technician

Do you enjoy solving complex mechanical problems, improving equipment reliability, and mentoring others? We're looking for an experienced Lead Maintenance Technician who combines exceptional troubleshooting skills with the ability to lead maintenance projects and support a high-performing team.

What You'll Do
As our Lead Maintenance Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining and improving the equipment that keeps our operation running safely and efficiently. You'll work closely with production, engineering, and fellow maintenance team members to reduce downtime, improve processes, and support new equipment initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment, pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and related machinery
- Lead equipment repairs, machine rebuilds, mold changes, and mechanical adjustments
- Diagnose equipment failures and implement long-term solutions to improve reliability
- Build, repair and maintain production molds
- Support equipment installations, upgrades, prototyping, and continuous improvement projects
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to maintenance team members
- Coordinate maintenance activities and help prioritize work to minimize production downtime
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and support preventative maintenance programs
- Ensure all work is completed safely while maintaining high standards of housekeeping and quality
What You Bring
We're looking for someone who is both technically strong and a natural leader.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- At least 3 years leading or mentoring maintenance teams and coordinating maintenance projects
- Strong troubleshooting skills in:
- Hydraulics
- Pneumatics
- Mechanical and PLC systems
- Industrial electrical
- Experience with robotics and heavily automated systems
- Experience maintaining production equipment, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and mechanical assemblies
- MIG welding experience
- Ability to independently diagnose complex equipment failures and implement effective repairs
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- A proactive mindset with a focus on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in plastic injection molding or similar manufacturing environments
- Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience
- Root Cause Analysis experience
