Executive Chef – The Woodyard Brewhouse & Eatery
Location - Yellowknife, Northwest Territories

Salary: $82,000–$104,000 + Comprehensive Benefits

We're looking for an Executive Chef to lead one of Canada's northernmost and busiest brewpubs.

This isn't a corporate kitchen with layers of management or endless approvals. It's an opportunity to take ownership of a respected food program, work alongside an award-winning brewery, and help shape the future of an independent hospitality business.

Located in historic Old Town, Yellowknife, The Woodyard Brewhouse & Eatery is home to a 112-seat dining room, a 50-seat seasonal patio, and a loyal year-round following. During our busy summer season we regularly serve more than 500 guests a day, all while delivering elevated, scratch-made gastropub food alongside award-winning craft beer.

We're looking for more than a talented chef.

Someone who enjoys coaching people, building systems, creating consistency, and developing a kitchen culture where the team succeeds together. You'll lead from the front, stepping onto the line when needed, but your greatest contribution will be building a team that can thrive because of your leadership.

What You'll Be Doing

Lead, mentor and develop a passionate kitchen team.
Create seasonal features and continue evolving our food program.
Maintain exceptional food quality, consistency and presentation.
Develop and standardize recipes and kitchen systems.
Manage scheduling, labour, food costs and inventory.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization and food safety.
Collaborate with our brewing team on beer dinners, pairings and special events.
Help create a positive, respectful workplace where people enjoy coming to work.
You'll work alongside owners who are passionate about the business and genuinely invested in the success of the kitchen. We value collaboration, welcome new ideas, and are committed to continually improving our food program, equipment, and team.

What We're Looking For

Executive Chef, Head Chef or experienced Sous Chef ready for the next step.
Experience leading high-volume restaurant operations.
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Passion for mentoring and developing people.
Creativity balanced with operational discipline.
Strong understanding of food costing, labour management and inventory control.
Commitment to high standards of food safety and cleanliness.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
