Job Type: Irregular Part-Time
The Role:
The Set-Up team is responsible for the set-up and tear-down of equipment and furnishings for events according to client expectations. Upon completion of a function, the team is also responsible for ensuring the venue is returned to its original state or preparing the venue for the next scheduled event.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and tear down of furniture, tables, chairs, dance floors, and equipment (podiums, stages, etc.) according to the event order and/or directions from lead hand
- Arrange event space using pipe and drape and/or moving walls to reconfigure rooms
- Acknowledge and respond promptly to any guest requests; communicating any special instructions to appropriate department manager and/or event coordinator
- Observe all safety and quality guidelines; wear PPE as required
Qualifications/Experience:
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job; standing and walking for extended periods of time, lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying heavy equipment in a safe manner
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings, afternoons, overnights, weekends, and holidays
- Good interpersonal, communication, and guest service skills
- Applicant must be legally entitled to work in Canada. Proof of work or student permit will be required upon hire
