First Flights is currently accepting applications for permanent full-time Early Childhood Educators. This position will support all of our child care programs operating within the 4 Wing Military Family Resource Centre Society including Out of School Care/Summer Care, Preschool, Daycare, and After Hours Care. Under the direction of the Child Care Coordinator, the successful candidate will monitor children in a safe, pleasant, and supportive environment. He/she promotes an atmosphere of courtesy, good manners, sharing, and cooperation by being a good role model for the children.

About the role:

Support children in all domains of development.
Knowledge, understanding or experience with children with behavioral needs.
Guide children in their play while effectively communicating tolerance, patience, and understanding.
Establish and continually maintain reciprocal relationships with children and families.
Knowledge and compliance of health and safety practices.
Participate in professional development opportunities.
Ensure licensing regulations and organizational standards are consistently followed.

To be successful in this position you should possess:

Early Learning and Child Care certificate or diploma; certification through the Government of Alberta as a minimum Level 1 Early Childhood Educator, OR willingness to obtain within the first year of employment (at no cost to the employee).
Current Child Welfare Intervention Record Check.
Current Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check
Current CPR and Basic First Aid
Proficiency in French is considered an asset

Salary until certified: $16.81 per hour for 40 hours per week
Salary for certified Early Childhood Educators: $19.53 - $27.79 per hour including Alberta Government Support Funding for approximately 40 hours per week.
