The Afternoon Shift Shipper / Receiver is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing batteries, battery supplies, and other products while ensuring inventory accuracy and the timely movement of goods throughout the warehouse. This role directly contributes to customer satisfaction by ensuring inbound and outbound shipments are processed accurately and efficiently while maintaining compliance with all company, provincial, and federal safety requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Receiving inbound shipments and verifying accuracy using Advanced Shipping Notices (ASN) and packing slips
- Investigating and correcting discrepancies and reporting any variances for both inbound and outbound loads
- Identifying and reporting any products that have damage upon arrival
- Processing various types of documentation relating to shipping and receiving and submitting to the Warehouse Supervisor, where appropriate
- Storing, locating, and retrieving products from designated warehouse locations
- Safely operating material handling equipment (dock stocker and pallet jack) to move skids and products throughout the facility
- Maintaining relevant shipping and receiving records including inbound trailer logs
- Applying and removing federally required shipping placards to/from inbound and outbound truck and container loads
- Participating in general warehouse duties, as required
- Participating in scheduled inventory counts
- Consistently maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment while reporting potential hazards
- Following all company policies, warehouse procedures, and safety requirements
- Supporting a positive team environment and collaborating effectively with all staff members
Experience, Skills & Competencies
- 2+ years of experience in a shipping, receiving, warehouse, or distribution environment
- 2+ years of experience operating forklifts (stand-up counterbalance, ideally) and other material handling equipment (valid certification considered an asset)
- Strong understanding of shipping, receiving, inventory control, and warehouse processes
- Experience working with shipping documentation, packing slips, ASNs, and inventory records
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and quality
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness and ability to frequently lift loads of up to 50 lbs
- Willingness and ability to occasionally push, pull, or move loads of up to 100 lbs
- Very strong communication skills in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
- Previous experience with WHMIS and TDG regulations considered a strong asset
Additional Considerations
- This position is supporting the afternoon shift with hours of work running from 3pm to 11:30pm Monday to Friday
- This is a 100% on-site position, working out of East Penn's Courtice Head Office location (reliable transportation to and from work is required, as public transportation options are not available for this area)
- This role requires some flexibility in schedule to accommodate occasional overtime requirements during periods of increased order volume

- Approximate hourly rate for this role is $22.00 – 23.50 per hour (exact salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data)
