Overview
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Feedlot/Farm Labourer to join our agricultural team. This role primarily involves supporting daily farm operations by operating and maintaining loaders, tracters, Skid Steers and other farm related equipment. The ideal candidate will have machine operator and maintenance experience. Also, the role will involve aiding the sheep health and lambing staff in their daily operations . The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and a willingness to learn about farm machinery and sheep/lambing operations. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic rural environment with a focus on sustainable farming practices.
Duties
- Assist with feeding, watering, and caring for livestock in the feedlot and pasture areas
- Operate and maintain farm machinery such as tractors, loaders, and feed mixers
- Perform heavy lifting of feed bags, equipment parts, and other materials as needed
- Clean and maintain barns, pens, and equipment to ensure a safe and hygienic environment
- Support in sheep movement, sorting, and health checks under supervision
- Assist with general farm maintenance tasks including fencing, repairs, and landscaping
- Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with farm regulations
Requirements
- Prior experience or knowledge of farm machinery and mechanical systems is mandatory
- Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly (up to 50 pounds) and work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual labor
- Basic understanding of livestock care is a plus but training will be provided
- Reliable transportation to access the farm location
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multi-cultural team in a fast-paced environment
- A willingness and ability to work with a Spanish and English speaking crew. Spanish is not a requirement of the position but will be an asset.
Pay: $25.00-$32.00 per hour
