Design for Manufacturing Excellence: Play a pivotal role in revolutionizing loudspeaker manufacturing. Enhance product designs and develop advanced manufacturing processes that set new benchmarks in the industry.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Apply your expertise in methodologies like Kaizen and 5S to constantly refine our manufacturing processes. Your efforts will not only improve efficiency but also contribute to the evolution of manufacturing standards.
Vendor Collaboration and Quality Assurance: Work closely with vendors to ensure the highest quality of materials and components. Your role is crucial in maintaining the integrity and performance of our loudspeakers.
Cross-Functional Team Collaboration: Engage with R&D, production, and supply chain teams to synchronize efforts and enhance overall operational efficiency.

PK Sound is currently looking for a creative, self-starting Mechanical Engineer who is ready to learn and assist in the development of new products with passion and precision. You will contribute to the design and implementation of new PK loudspeaker products. You will also participate in shaping the future of the professional live sound industry by performing groundbreaking and innovative research to further propel PK’s products to the next level. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Research, design, prototype, and test novel loudspeaker components and systems.
Optimize and cost reduce existing components and systems.
Use SolidWorks to create 3D mechanical models, technical drawings (i.e., construction, assembly, and as-fitted drawings), and bills of materials.
Perform FEA Simulations and interpret their results to improve designs.
Triage, solve, and optimize manufacturing quality issues and assembly processes.
Collaborate with the acoustic engineering team to ensure mechanical designs meet sound quality and performance criteria.
Analyze feedback to identify areas of improvement.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring transparent communication with management and product managers.
Ensure all designs and modifications are well-documented for future reference.
Participate in new product introduction activities to ensure efficient product development cycles across multiple departments.
Oversee comprehensive documentation, ensure industry standards compliance, and create user manuals.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the audio or electronics manufacturing industry.
Proficiency in Mechanical CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for designing and simulating mechanical components.
Experience performing FEA analysis and interpreting results (e.g., SolidWorks Simulation, ANSYS, COMSOL)
Experience in creating technical drawings for part manufacturing purposes.
Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes, techniques, and machinery.
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Meticulous attention to detail
Critical and pragmatic thinking
A collaborative, ego-free approach to problem solving
Strong analytical skills to identify and solve design and production challenges.
Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with industry trends and technologies.

Preference given to candidates with:

Acoustical engineering knowledge.
Knowledge of loudspeakers enclosure design and principles.
Knowledge or experience in robotics assembly integration.
Knowledge of lean/Six Sigma manufacturing principles
Experience with designing parts for manufacturing with injection molding, die-casting, and CNC machining processes.
Effective collaboration with electrical and acoustical engineers.
Agile product development lifecycle experience (kanban, scrum).
Experience working in the professional live sound industry.

EDUCATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Mechanical engineering degree preferred or related experience.
5+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience.
The ability to travel without restriction.
