Glen Abbey Montessori School is looking for a warm, dependable, energetic, and caring individual to join our team as a Children's Program Support Assistant & Aftercare Supervisor.
This is not a teaching/ECE or ECA position. Instead, you'll play an important role in supporting our school by helping care for children throughout the day while also keeping our classrooms clean, organized, and running smoothly.
If you've worked as a nanny, babysitter, camp counsellor, mother's helper, recreation leader, or simply enjoy working with young children, we'd love to hear from you.
We are looking for someone who enjoys staying busy, notices what needs to be done without being asked, and takes pride in creating a safe, welcoming environment where children can thrive.
What You'll Be Doing
Every day is a little different, but your responsibilities will include:
Supporting Children
- Assisting children with toileting, handwashing, dressing, and other daily routines.
- Helping children during lunch and snack times by opening containers, cutting food, encouraging independence, and offering support when needed.
- Supervising children during indoor and outdoor play.
- Helping children transition between activities throughout the day.
- Supervising and engaging with children in our aftercare program.
- Building positive, caring relationships with the children while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
- Supporting our teaching team wherever an extra set of hands is needed.
Keeping Our School Beautiful
- Cleaning and sanitizing classrooms, tables, washrooms, toys, and high-touch surfaces throughout the day.
- Sweeping and tidying classrooms and common areas.
- Organizing classroom materials, bookshelves, and storage areas.
- Setting up and putting away lunch, nap equipment, and classroom materials.
- Helping prepare classrooms for the next day's activities.
- Completing end-of-day classroom closing duties.
Food Preparation
- Preparing and serving meals and snacks.
- Maintaining food preparation areas.
- Loading and unloading the dishwasher.
- Completing daily food temperature logs.
- Preparing afternoon snacks for our aftercare program.

- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Able to multitask in a busy school environment.
- Physically active and able to lift, bend, kneel, and be on their feet throughout the day.
Experience We Value
You do not need to be an Early Childhood Educator or Montessori teacher.

Requirements
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Up-to-date immunizations
