Our client is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a major modernization initiative for the Student Financial Services Branch. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and delivering new public-facing digital services that improve the online student financial assistance experience while integrating with existing internal applications.
Working within an Agile development environment, you will collaborate with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, and software developers to gather requirements, analyze business processes, design user experiences, and support the successful delivery of a modern, scalable solution.
- Facilitate requirements gathering workshops with business stakeholders and subject matter experts.

Analyze current-state and future-state business processes to identify opportunities for improvement.

Elicit, document, validate, and manage functional and non-functional requirements.

Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, product backlogs, and requirements traceability matrices.

Create wireframes, screen mock-ups, process flows, and business process diagrams.
-
Document system interfaces, business workflows, and integration requirements between new and existing applications.

Collaborate closely with software developers throughout the solution design and development lifecycle.

Support Agile ceremonies, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and ongoing requirements clarification.

Develop and maintain test cases while supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Identify stakeholder needs and translate business objectives into technical requirements.

Support project reporting, dashboards, KPIs, and executive-level status reporting.

Contribute to procurement assessments and ensure alignment with organizational policies.

Work collaboratively with both business and technical teams to support successful project delivery.
- Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Analysis, or a related discipline.

Minimum 8 years of experience in business applications, including design, development support, business analysis, or systems analysis.

Minimum 3–5 years of Business Analyst experience.

Strong experience facilitating requirements gathering sessions and stakeholder workshops.

Experience documenting business processes, workflows, use cases, and system interfaces.

- Experience performing current-state and future-state analysis for enterprise application implementations.

Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Experience working collaboratively within Agile software development teams.

Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Experience working within SAFe, Agile, or similar delivery methodologies.

Hands-on experience using Azure DevOps for backlog management, user stories, and Agile delivery.

Experience designing mobile-responsive web application interfaces.

Experience creating project dashboards, KPI reporting, and executive status reports.

Current IIBA CBAP, PMI-PBA, or similar Business Analysis certification.

Experience working within the Canadian Public Sector.

Experience supporting Student Financial Services or comparable government service delivery programs.
