Job description: We are actively seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Construction Safety Officer (CSO) with OFA 3 to join our team on a major infrastructure project in Fort St. John.
This is not a desk job. We are looking for an active, "boots-on-the-ground" CSO who is visible on-site, ready to assist with site logistics, and capable of maintaining safety standards in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a high level of visibility on the construction site; this role requires you to be out of the office and actively monitoring work areas.
- Assist with material movement and general site cleanup to ensure a safe and organized work environment.
- Confidently manage safety documentation, ensuring accurate records of inspections, training sessions, and incident reports are maintained.
- Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards specific to the project site.
- Provide regular toolbox talks and training sessions for employees on safety practices and proper PPE usage.
- Work closely with site personnel to foster a culture of safety compliance.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Must be a currently active and experienced Construction Safety Officer.
- Proficiency in Pro-Core software is required for tracking safety metrics.
- Certifications in Confined Space, Respirator, and Fall Protection are preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including moving materials and maintaining site cleanliness.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively lead safety talks and convey information to diverse teams.
