LA Group is a diversified residential construction and land development firm based in Kemptville, Ontario. For more than 25 years, we have been building award-winning custom homes, major renovations, heritage restorations, and residential developments throughout Ottawa and the surrounding Valley.
Unlike high-volume production builders, every project we undertake is unique. Our team works closely with homeowners, architects, engineers, consultants, trades, and suppliers to deliver exceptional craftsmanship, innovative solutions, and outstanding client service.
We're looking for a highly experienced Senior Residential Project Manager to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned construction professional with extensive Canadian residential construction experience who enjoys taking ownership of projects from planning through completion. If you're looking to join a well-established local company where your experience is valued and no two projects are the same, we'd love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Manage residential construction projects from vacant lot to completed custom home, including design coordination, estimating, scheduling, construction, and landscaping.
- Read, interpret, and apply construction drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate project schedules, ensuring timelines, budgets, and resources align with contractual requirements.
- Coordinate all phases of residential construction while maintaining accurate project documentation and company records.
- Work closely with homeowners, architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal team members throughout each project.
- Monitor project budgets by reviewing and reconciling subcontractor and supplier quotes and invoices, ensuring costs remain within approved budgets and contractual scope.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders, material orders, and subcontractor change orders.
- Coordinate employee and subcontractor scheduling and allocate personnel to project requirements.
- Produce daily site reports and maintain accurate project records.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, safety, and schedule.
- Identify and resolve construction challenges proactively while working collaboratively with the leadership team.
- Assist with land development and future residential and commercial projects as opportunities arise.
- Support other team members as required and perform other duties consistent with the role.
Who We're Looking For:
This is not an entry-level position. We're looking for a seasoned residential construction professional who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys seeing projects through from concept to completion.
Our ideal candidate has built a successful career with a custom home builder or residential renovation company and understands the realities of managing custom homes, additions, and renovations within the Canadian residential construction industry. You'll be comfortable balancing office coordination with regular site visits while confidently leading projects and making informed decisions.
If you're looking to leave a larger organization or simply want the opportunity to work on diverse, high-quality residential projects with a respected local company, we'd love to hear from you.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the Canadian residential construction industry.
- Extensive experience managing custom homes, major renovations, and wood-frame residential construction projects.
- Completion of a Civil Engineering Technician diploma or equivalent is required.
- Civil engineering, construction management, or related experience is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of construction scopes of work and the ability to create and interpret construction drawings.
- Thorough knowledge of Canadian residential construction practices, applicable building codes, and project coordination.
- Excellent organizational, mathematical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of applicable health and safety legislation and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, GIS, and other relevant software.
- Valid driver's licence and the ability to travel regularly to project sites throughout the region.
Why Join LA Group?
- Work on a diverse portfolio of custom homes, major renovations, heritage restorations, and residential developments.
- Join an award-winning company with more than 25 years of experience and a reputation for quality.
- Enjoy a role with genuine autonomy, responsibility, and the opportunity to make an impact.
- Be part of a collaborative, close-knit team where your experience and ideas are valued.
- Help shape exciting future projects, including larger residential developments as our company continues to grow.
- Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package based on education and experience.
