TEMPORARY HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

About the position:
The Human Resources Administrative Assistant is the first point of contact for the Human Resources department and plays a key role in keeping day-to-day HR operations running smoothly. This office-based front desk position supports recruitment, onboarding, employee records, and general HR administration while providing excellent service to employees, candidates, visitors, and community partners.
This is a temporary role ending on June 30, 2027.
Hours: Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM until 4:30 PM, 40 hours per week.
Location: Edmonton, Alberta.

What you’ll do:
The Human Resources Administrative Assistant manages the Front Desk and supports Human Resources functions.
Key areas of responsibility will include:
· Manage the HR front desk and serve as the first point of contact for the Human Resources department, providing professional customer service to employees, candidates, visitors, and community partners.
· Coordinate general office administration, including mail, office supplies, bookings, and HR-related correspondence.
· Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with applicable legislation.
· Provide administrative support for recruitment, onboarding, and employee lifecycle activities.
· Support recruitment activities, including job postings, application administration, and candidate coordination.
· Provide backup support to the Onboarding Coordinator during planned and unplanned absences.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
What you bring:
· Post-secondary diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
· Minimum one year of administrative experience in a Human Resources or office environment.
· Experience using Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), Microsoft Office Suite, and SharePoint.
· Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and exercise sound judgment.
· Commitment to principles of equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging in all aspects of work.
· Previous experience in the non-profit sector or a mission-driven organization is an asset.
