Butcher / Butcher's Assistant / Meat Cutter

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Butcher / Meat Cutter to join our team in providing high-quality meat products to our customers. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation, meat cutting, and food handling, with a strong focus on food safety and customer service. This role involves preparing, cutting, and packaging meat products while maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Candidates with kitchen experience and a background in the food industry are encouraged to apply to contribute to our commitment to excellence. Responsibilities

Cut, trim, and prepare various types of meat according to customer specifications and safety standards
Handle food products safely, adhering to all food safety regulations and procedures
Package meat products efficiently for retail display or wholesale distribution
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the work area, tools, and equipment
Assist customers with selecting meat products and answer any questions regarding cuts or preparation
Ensure proper storage of meat products to preserve freshness and quality
Follow all health and safety guidelines related to food handling and processing
Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying management of shortages or expiration dates

Qualifications

Previous experience in the food industry, particularly in butchery or meat cutting, is preferred
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling techniques
Ability to operate knives and other butchery tools safely and efficiently
Strong attention to detail in cutting, packaging, and presentation of meat products
Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
Kitchen experience or background in food preparation is a plus
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy loads as needed
