As a Senior Tax Analyst at Gibson Energy you'll partner with teams across Canada and the U.S., contribute to strategic business initiatives, and play a key role in supporting tax compliance, reporting, planning, and process improvements. What You'll Do

Contribute to the preparation of Canadian and U.S. corporate income tax returns, including schedules, calculations, and supporting documentation.

Support and prepare monthly indirect tax filings (e.g GST).
Assist with quarterly and annual tax provisions, including data collection, reconciliations, and working papers.
Extract, analyze and organize financial data from ERP systems to support tax filings and analysis.
Perform detailed reconciliations and calculations, ensuring accuracy and completeness of audit ready tax data.
Maintain and enhance Excel-based tax models and trackers, with a focus on accuracy and documentation to help track and maintain tax attributes (e.g., ACB, PUC, surplus balances).
Assist in preparing support documentation for audits and tax authority requests.
Compile working papers, memos, and files in accordance with internal standards and legislative requirements.
Support research on tax legislation and technical issues, summarizing findings for the team.
Collaborate with finance and others, cross functionally to gather input and improve processes.
Other duties/projects as assigned.

What You'll Bring to the Role

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
CPA designation or CPA Candidate preferred.
4+ years of corporate tax experience.
Must have strong working knowledge of Canadian corporate income tax compliance, tax provisions, and related reporting requirements.

Experience in indirect tax, US tax and/or Canadian energy industry tax would be considered an asset.
Strong technical skills including Excel, TaxPrep, and ERP systems.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines during compliance and reporting cycles.
