We're looking for a compassionate and dependable Health Care Aide to become part of an established care team supporting a client in Airdrie.

Schedule & Availability
We are currently hiring a caregiver who can provide consistent availability.
The current care schedule is:
Morning Shifts
- Monday to Sunday: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Evening Shifts
- Monday to Sunday: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
To promote consistency of care, we anticipate scheduling this position on the following rotating schedule:
Week 1: Wednesday through Sunday
Week 2: Monday through Friday
Our preference is for the successful candidate to be available for both the morning and evening shifts on their scheduled days, allowing the client to receive care from the same familiar caregiver whenever possible. However, applicants who are only available for the morning shifts are still encouraged to apply.
What You'll Do
Every client is unique, but responsibilities may include:
- Providing companionship and meaningful social interaction.
- Assisting with personal care while promoting dignity, independence, and choice.
- Supporting mobility, transfers, and fall prevention.
- Providing medication assistance within the Health Care Aide scope of practice.
- Preparing meals and assisting with nutrition and hydration.
- Light housekeeping, laundry, and maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable home environment.
- Monitoring for changes in a client's health or wellbeing and communicating concerns promptly.
- Escorting clients to appointments and community outings when required.
- Completing accurate and timely documentation.
- Working independently while exercising sound judgment, professionalism, and compassion.
Qualifications
Applicants must have:
- Health Care Aide Certificate.
- Current CLHA registration in good standing.
- Professional liability insurance.
- Current CPR & First Aid Certification.
- Current Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check.
- Valid Alberta driver's licence.
- Reliable vehicle to travel to the client's home.
Experience & Skills
The successful applicant will have:
- Minimum 2 years of Health Care Aide experience preferred.
- Experience providing care to seniors in a home care, supportive living, or long-term care setting.
- Strong understanding of person-centred care.
- Excellent observation and critical thinking skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to work independently with confidence and sound judgment.
- The ability to adapt to each client's unique routines, preferences, and goals.
