Parts & Inventory Clerk
Cardium Vac is a locally owned and operated oilfield service company providing vacuum truck, tank truck, water truck, and environmental services throughout Alberta. We are currently seeking a motivated, organized, and dependable Parts & Inventory Clerk to join our maintenance team at our Edson, Alberta shop.
Position Summary
The Parts & Inventory Clerk plays a key role in supporting our fleet maintenance operations by ensuring mechanics have the parts and supplies they need to complete repairs and preventative maintenance efficiently. This position is responsible for inventory management, ordering, receiving, and maintaining an organized parts department while working closely with mechanics, vendors, the Shop Foreman, and management.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday
- 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- 1-hour unpaid lunch break
- No weekends (occasional overtime may be required during busy periods)
Responsibilities
- Order heavy-duty truck parts, shop supplies, and maintenance materials.
- Source parts from suppliers while balancing quality, availability, and cost.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels for parts, shop supplies, and consumables.
- Receive, inspect, and accurately record incoming shipments.
- Organize and maintain a clean, efficient parts room and storage areas.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile inventory as required.
- Issue parts to mechanics and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Complete year end inventory.
- Assist mechanics in locating required parts and components.
- Assist drivers in receiving parts required to complete jobs.
- Process returns, warranty claims, and core returns.
- Monitor backorders and follow up with suppliers.
- Work with the Shop Foreman to ensure preventative maintenance inventory is available.
- Maintain vendor relationships and seek competitive pricing.
- Enter mechanic work orders into maintenance software.
- Assist with fleet documentation and purchasing records as required.
- Support shop housekeeping and safe work practices.
- Support shop staff and management as required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in heavy-duty truck, automotive, agricultural, industrial, or equipment parts is preferred.
- Experience with vacuum trucks, tank trucks, trailers, or water trucks is an asset.
- Experience with inventory management and cycle counting is an asset.
- Experience using the Axon Work Order Module is considered an asset.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Comfortable using computers for inventory control, purchasing, and data entry.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence.

Pay: $20.00-$27.00 per hour
