Our civilian and military employees work together to provide agile, quality engineering and technical service to support the Royal Canadian Navy Fleet. Intent of the process
The intent of this process is to fill various English essential positions in Esquimalt, British Columbia.
Please note that all positions are on-site, and you will be expected to work in person for the entire duration of your scheduled hours. These positions will be located on DND wings and bases only.
This is an inventory process, and candidates will be assessed continuously during this period. early to be considered for immediate vacancies.

Education:
Possession of a valid Provincial or Territorial Trade Certificate relevant to the position; Interprovincial Red Seal Certificate of qualification relevant to the position;
OR
An acceptable combination of education, training, or experience relevant to the position being staffed.

Experience:
The following or any additional experience can be invoked for any of the positions being staffed:
1. Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (such as Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
2. Experience working in a ship repair facility.
3. Experience working with safety practices and work procedures in an industrial environment.
4. Experience working with an Occupational Health and Safety Committee.
5. Experience working or volunteering in a mixed civilian and military environment.
6. Experience with Ship Piping Systems.
7. Experience with Ship Ventilation Systems.
8. Experience with Hull Structure repairs.
Abilities:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25kgs/50lbs
The following qualifications are only applicable to the trades below:
Rigger (SR PRW 08):
- Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 35kg/75lbs with full range of motion
The following qualifications are only applicable to the trades below:
Electronics Technician SR EEW 10
1. Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics/drawings
2. Ability to diagnose faults and repair electronic equipment
3. Ability to use Electronics Troubleshooting Techniques
4. Ability to Digital and Analog Electronics Theory
