JOB SUMMARY –
The Quality Manager is responsible for leading and maintaining the organization’s Quality Management System (QMS) while ensuring products and processes meet internal standards, customer requirements, and regulatory expectations. This role provides strategic and operational leadership for the quality function, overseeing inspection processes, quality assurance activities, compliance programs, and continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with Engineering, Production, Tool and Die, Customer Service, and Operations teams, the Quality Manager ensures quality is embedded at the source of production. The role leads the Quality team, supports structured problem-solving initiatives, and drives improvements that strengthen product reliability, operational performance, and customer satisfaction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES –
Quality Management System Leadership:
- Maintain and continuously improve the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
- Ensure all quality policies, procedures, and documentation remain compliant with internal and external requirements.
- Lead internal and external audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.
- Oversee document control and ensure quality records are maintained accurately.
Quality Operations Management:
- Provide leadership and direction to the Quality department including Customer Focus Quality Supervisors, Quality Technicians, and Production Quality Associates.
- Ensure inspection processes and quality verification systems are executed effectively across manufacturing operations.
- Coordinate quality inspection priorities with Production, Engineering, and Scheduling teams.
Customer & Supplier Quality Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for customer quality concerns and product performance issues.
- Lead investigation and resolution of customer complaints, returns, and non-conformances.
- Support supplier quality evaluation and improvement initiatives.
Problem Solving & Corrective Actions:
- Lead structured problem-solving initiatives using quality tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, and root cause analysis.
- Oversee Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Corrective and Preventive Action Requests (CPARs), and Return Material Authorizations (RMAs).
- Ensure corrective actions address root causes and prevent recurrence.
Quality Planning & Product Introduction:
- Support Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities including PFMEA, Quality Control Plans (QCP), and First Article Inspections (FAI).
- Collaborate with Engineering teams to ensure new products and processes meet quality standards before production release.
- Support development and verification of inspection methods and control plans.
Continuous Improvement:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, process stability, and operational performance.
- Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives and quality improvement programs across departments.
- Promote quality-at-the-source principles throughout the organization.
Leadership & Team Development:
- Recruit, train, mentor, and develop members of the Quality team.
- Establish clear performance expectations and support employee development.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES –
Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and audit processes.
- Knowledge of manufacturing quality assurance practices, inspection methods, and compliance requirements.
- Understanding of quality tools including 8D, PFMEA, Control Plans, capability studies, and root cause analysis.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements including RoHS, REACH, and CMRT documentation.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills within a manufacturing environment.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities related to product and process quality.
- Ability to develop and implement quality strategies and improvement initiatives.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and quality reporting tools.
Abilities:
- Lead cross-functional teams to resolve complex quality issues.
- Maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail when managing quality documentation and reporting.
- Balance operational quality requirements with long-term quality system improvements.
- Promote accountability and continuous improvement across the organization.
- Manage confidential operational and quality-related information professionally.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE –
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, or a related field required.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in a manufacturing quality environment.
- Minimum2-3 years of experience in leadership or supervisory within a quality function preferred.
- Experience with ISO 9001 certification and ISO Audits, and structured problem-solving methodologies strongly preferred.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing tools preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS –
- Combination of office-based work and time spent on the production floor supporting quality activities.
- Sitting: approximately 50–60% of the workday performing reporting, analysis, and documentation.
- Walking: approximately 25–35% of the workday supporting production areas and collaborating with teams.
- Standing: approximately 10–15% of the workday during inspections, audits, and operational reviews.
- Exposure to manufacturing environments including machinery, noise, and production equipment.
- Mandatory use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety eyewear, hearing protection, and protective footwear when accessing production areas.

Pay: $85,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
