Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Director of Safety and Compliance role based in Surrey BC. The Director of Safety and Compliance will develop, implement, and oversee company-wide safety and compliance programs, policies, and procedures in alignment with federal, state, and local regulations. This role will lead audits, inspections, and risk assessments across transportation and facility operations, and will investigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents to identify root causes and corrective actions. The director will design and deliver safety training programs, maintain compliance documentation, and ensure accurate reporting to regulatory agencies. The role will collaborate closely with operations, human resources, and leadership to drive a culture of safety, monitor key safety metrics, and continuously improve environmental, health, and safety performance.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Environment Health and Safety (EHS) and Occupational Health, with the ability to develop and manage comprehensive safety programs.
- Proficiency in designing, delivering, and tracking Training programs related to safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- Background in Construction Safety or similar high-risk operational environments, preferably within transportation, logistics, or related industries.
- In-depth knowledge of applicable safety, environmental, and transportation regulations (e.g., OSHA, DOT, FMCSA) and best practices.
- Proven leadership experience managing safety and compliance teams and influencing safety culture at all organizational levels.
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and reporting skills, with attention to detail and data-driven decision-making capability.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and frontline personnel.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Compliance, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CSP, CHST) are a plus.
- Ability to work on-site in Surrey, BC and travel as needed to company and client locations.
Pay: $80,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
