Office Assistant & Administrative Trainee (Entry-Level / Long-Term)
Pay: CA$16.00–CA$20.00 per hour

Job Type: Full-time, In-person

Job Overview
Looking to launch your career in office administration? We are a busy, fast-paced roofing company ready to fully train a reliable, motivated person for a long-term role in our office. No previous office experience is required—we care much more about your work ethic, attitude, and willingness to learn than a long resume.
Because the roofing industry is dependent on the weather, our schedule fluctuates. We need someone adaptable: during our peak summer season, we push hard, which means longer days and occasional weekend work. In the winter, things slow down significantly, resulting in shorter hours and a lighter schedule. If you are looking to build a strong professional foundation and want a role that adapts throughout the year, we want to hear from you.
What You Will Learn & Do:
- Customer Relations: Act as the first point of contact for our clients, handling incoming phone calls and greeting visitors with a professional, helpful attitude.
- Scheduling & Operations: Learn to manage calendars, coordinate appointments, and keep our busy crews organized.
- Data Entry & Records: Maintain accurate digital files, input client details, and assist with basic document organization.
- Clerical Support: Assist with typing, proofreading, and preparing daily correspondence.
- Software Competency: Gain hands-on experience using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and industry-specific business tools.
What We Are Looking For:
- The Right Attitude: A strong, self-motivated work ethic and the ability to stay calm and focused in a fast-paced environment.
- Tech-Savvy Basics: Comfortable using computers and navigating online software. A recent office administration course or familiarity with QuickBooks Online is a major asset, but not a dealbreaker.
- Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and ready to step up when the summer rush hits.
- Communication: Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills.
Perks & Compensation:
- Competitive hourly wage with regular day hours.
- Comprehensive hands-on training and mentorship.
- Health Spending Account (HSA): Eligible after completing your initial probation period to help cover dental, vision, prescriptions, and medical expenses.
How to Apply:
Please submit your resume along with a brief cover letter. Your cover letter should include answers the following questions:
- Why are you interested in launching your office career specifically within a fast-paced contracting/roofing environment?
- Confirming you have read the job description, are you fully available for and comfortable with our seasonal schedule (longer hours and occasional weekends in the summer, shorter hours in the winter)?
- Reliability is everything in our office—when the weather is good, our field crews and clients count on us to be on our game. Can you share a brief example from your past work, school, or personal life that demonstrates your dependability and strong work ethic?
