LEARNING CENTRE OFFICE ASSISTANT

School: Adult and Continuing Education, Central North Correctional Centre

Principal: Alison Chornobaj

Schedule: Full-time, 12 month permanent

Qualifications:

Required: Grade 12 diploma. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills combined with strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as a team member. Detail oriented with strong clerical, organization, accuracy and coping skills. Able to problem solve, apply policies and procedures and work within deadlines. Strong computer skills; proficiency working with databases and Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook. Advanced word-processing skills and website maintenance experience. A reliable vehicle is required to work between sites; mileage reimbursable at the board established rate.

Preferred: Experience with accounting systems (i.e. JD Edwards) and knowledge of basic accounting principles. Previous experience in a business environment is an asset.

The duties, responsibilities and requirements for this position are not limited to the above but may include all of those in the Job Fact Sheet for Learning Centre Office Assistant.

Participation in the OMERS Pension Plan is mandatory for all full-time permanent employees, even if currently in receipt of an OMERS pension.
