Job #5047 – Our well-established client in the professional services sector is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role supports day-to-day financial operations, including maintaining accurate financial records, managing reconciliations, processing transactions, and supporting reporting activities. The position plays a key role in ensuring financial data is accurate and up to date while supporting efficient accounting and administrative processes across the organization. The ideal candidate is a dependable, detail-oriented professional who works effectively both independently and collaboratively. They take full ownership of their responsibilities, follow through on commitments, and thrive in a structured environment where accountability and attention to detail are essential. Reporting to the CEO, the main responsibilities include:

Maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, reconciliations, and bookkeeping files
Manage payroll processing, HST remittances, and ROE submissions
Track expenses, disbursements, and billing details in coordination with the accounting function
Prepare invoices, process payments, and maintain trust and general ledgers
Support financial reporting, budgeting activities, and overall document organization
Liaise with clients, financial institutions, and other third parties, responding to inquiries promptly
Coordinate document management, version control, and general data entry tasks
Provide general administrative and office support as required

Qualifications

The main qualifications for this role include:

Post-secondary education in accounting is preferred
Minimum 3+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience required
Good understanding of accounting principles and procedures, including payroll
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Previous QuickBooks experience is considered an asset
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
