Job Purpose:
The Software Developer – Quality Assurance plays a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, security, and performance of software products and integrated systems. This role applies software development principles to the design, development, automation, execution, and maintenance of software testing solutions throughout the product lifecycle.
The Software Developer – Quality Assurance is responsible for developing automated test frameworks, unit tests, integration tests, regression tests, and supporting CI/CD quality processes. Using software development expertise and industry knowledge, this role works closely with developers, testers, product owners, and DevOps teams to ensure quality is embedded throughout the software delivery lifecycle. This role is accountable for independently delivering quality assurance solutions while promoting testing best practices and continuous improvement.

Principal Responsibilities:
Product Quality and Delivery
- Create and maintain unit, integration, regression, performance, and end-to-end test suites
- Develop test automation solutions using established software development principles
- Ensure software products meet functional, performance, security, and reliability requirements before release
- Execute and monitor automated testing within Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects through resolution
- Participate in software design reviews, code reviews, and product planning activities
- Validate software implementations against business requirements and technical specifications
- Contribute to release readiness assessments and production deployment validation
Problem Solving and Analysis
- Research, prepare, and document testing requirements, strategies, and specifications
- Analyze application behavior and troubleshoot defects across multiple systems
- Perform root cause analysis on production and testing issues
- Evaluate risks and recommend improvements to software quality processes
- Apply software development principles to improve test effectiveness, maintainability, and reliability
Quality Assurance and DevOps
- Develop and maintain CI/CD quality gates and automated validation processes
- Integrate automated testing into build and deployment pipelines
- Monitor quality metrics and provide recommendations for continuous improvement
- Support secure software development practices and compliance with organizational standards
- Recommend tools, frameworks, and processes that improve software quality and delivery efficiency
Collaboration and Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with developers, testers, project managers, and product owners throughout the software lifecycle
- Facilitate and actively participate in meetings, walkthroughs, and reviews
- Assist in developing quality assurance standards, practices, and documentation
- Mentor team members in automated testing, quality assurance, and testing best practices
- Stay current with emerging quality assurance, software development, and DevOps technologies
Knowledge, skills and experience:
- College diploma or university degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- 5–7 years of experience in software development, test automation, quality assurance, or a related technical role
- Strong knowledge of software development principles and object-oriented programming
- Experience with C#, .NET, Web APIs, REST services, JavaScript, HTML, and related technologies
- Experience creating and maintaining automated test frameworks
- Experience with unit testing frameworks and integration testing practices
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and release automation
- Knowledge of SQL Server and/or Oracle databases
- Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders
Context and Environment:
The IT department and all infrastructure operate on a 24 * 7 model, and the expectation is that assistance is available whenever required.
The Software Developer – Quality Assurance maintains, supports, tests, and enhances custom software applications and systems that are critical to the company's core business operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, performance, and security of software solutions through automated and manual testing practices. Web applications and related systems directly support our clients, service providers, and individual members.
An employee in this role must be able to:
- Work both independently and in a team-oriented environment
- Work for extended periods at a computer
- Work occasional overtime hours to meet project deadlines
Internal Communications:
All internal employees have either direct or indirect connections to the IT department. The Software Developer – Quality Assurance must liaise with Client Services and other internal departments to ensure that requirements are correctly translated into a functioning product. As part of this collaboration, the role also requires the ability to provide presentations or training sessions to peers when needed.
External Communications:
All clients and potential clients have either direct or indirect connection to the IT department.
