High School Math Teacher/Tutor Wanted

Oxford Learning Oakville North is growing, and we're looking for enthusiastic High School Math Teacher-Tutors to join our award-winning team. This role is perfect for someone who lights up when talking about math, enjoys working with students and finds satisfaction in helping students build confidence and master challenging concepts. This is a fantastic opportunity for future educators, math enthusiasts, university students, or anyone considering a career in teaching to gain meaningful experience working directly with students. Position Requirements

All Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning work during after-school and evening hours 3:00pm - 8:00pm) as well as some Saturdays (9:00am - 1:00pm). A commitment until the end of the school year in June is preferred. Continuing through the summer and into the coming school year is even better. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must.

This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

We encourage you to apply if you have the majority of the following requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field
Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
Teaching certification an asset
Good knowledge of the current Grades 9-12 math curriculum, particularly senior math and including, but not limited to, advanced functions, algebra, trigonometry and calculus, and vectors.

Experience:

Some experience teaching/tutoring math at a Grade 9 to 12 (or equivalent) level
Strong English written and oral communication skills
Strong math skills and ability to guide students' understanding
Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

Responsibilities (Position Details)

You will work directly with students as an Interactive Coach with the following responsibilities:

Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
Teaching online and in-person
Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
Filling in post-lesson notes
Completing daily student communication updates
Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
