J Connelly Rental is looking for a Garage Foreman / Mechanical Supervisor to structure, manage, and help develop our mechanical department.
The main mandate is to bring structure and control to the garage: rental equipment, delivery trucks, trailers, repairs, maintenance, inspections, parts, Odoo, mechanic productivity, and garage profitability.
We are not only looking for a mechanic. We are looking for an organized, firm, and results-driven person who can lead a garage team, set priorities, move equipment through repairs faster, and help develop the full potential of the garage.
Main responsibilities:
- Organize daily garage priorities
- Follow up on repairs and maintenance
- Manage annual inspections and preventive maintenance
- Coordinate parts follow-up through Odoo
- Keep rental equipment ready and available
- Follow maintenance for delivery trucks, pickups, and trailers
- Reduce equipment downtime and blocked machines
- Improve mechanic productivity
- Track work hours, open jobs, and completed jobs
- Gradually help develop customer repair jobs
- Contribute to garage profitability
- Keep the garage clean, organized, and safe
- Participate in recruiting and training mechanics or apprentices
Garage profitability and development:
The garage must become a more productive and profitable department.
The candidate will be expected to help improve garage performance, increase productive hours, improve parts follow-up, reduce downtime, and eventually help develop customer repair work.
The priority remains the availability of J Connelly Rental’s own rental equipment and delivery fleet. Customer repair work must be developed without hurting rental operations.
Profile required:
- Experience in a garage, fleet, equipment, construction, transportation, machinery, or rental environment
- Good mechanical understanding
- Bilingual French / English, spoken and written
- Strong field leadership
- Organized, responsible, and reliable
- Able to manage mechanics and garage staff
- Able to use or learn Odoo
- Results-driven and profitability-minded
- Able to develop a team
- Able to enforce standards
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to communicate clearly with employees, suppliers, drivers, and customers
- Able to read technical manuals, parts documents, work orders, and service information in French and English
What we offer:
- Salary from $85,000 to $110,000 per year, depending on experience
- Performance bonus possible after probation, based on real results, garage profitability, and department development
- Service vehicle or vehicle allowance possible after 12 months, based on results, final role, and operational needs

The candidate will collaborate with the yard and dispatch teams, but the main mandate remains the development and management of the garage.
