Description complète du poste

Reporting directly to the Member and working closely with staff, the successful candidate will support communications, outreach, and constituency engagement activities. This role is ideal for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced political environment, can manage competing priorities under pressure, and is passionate about public service and community engagement.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills in both official languages, strong political awareness, and the ability to create compelling content across a variety of platforms.

Responsibilities

Draft, edit, translate, and proofread correspondence, speeches, newsletters, media releases, social media content, and other communications in both English and French to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
Create engaging graphics and visual content for social media, newsletters, flyers, mailers, invitations, and digital communications.
Conduct research on policy issues, community concerns, parliamentary activities, and current events to support communications and outreach strategies.
Assist in preparing the Member for public speaking engagements, community events, stakeholder meetings, and media appearances.
Support community outreach initiatives and assist with the planning and execution of events, announcements, and public engagements.
Monitor traditional and social media to identify emerging issues and opportunities relevant to the Member and constituency.
Maintain and update communication records, contact databases, newsletters, media lists, and constituent inquiries.
Proofread all outgoing communications to uphold high standards of professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Collaborate with team members to develop innovative communications strategies that effectively reach diverse audiences.
Represent the office professionally when engaging with constituents, stakeholders, community organizations, and government partners.

Qualifications and Experience

Proven bilingual proficiency in English and French, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
Strong knowledge of Canadian politics, parliamentary processes, government affairs, and current political issues.
Previous experience in politics, communications, government relations, public affairs, advocacy, or a related field is considered a strong asset.
Excellent research skills and the ability to quickly gather, analyze, and communicate information effectively.
Ability to write, edit, translate, and proofread documents with exceptional attention to detail.
Experience developing social media content and digital communications strategies.
Strong graphic design skills with experience creating professional communications materials for digital and print distribution.
Proficiency in Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, or equivalent software).
A portfolio showcasing previous graphic design, social media, communications, or campaign-related work is preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
Proven ability to work effectively under pressure in a high-paced, politically sensitive environment.
Strong organizational skills, initiative, discretion, and professional judgment.
Must possess a valid driver's licence and have access to a reliable vehicle for events, outreach activities, and meetings throughout the riding.

Pay: $40,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
