We are currently hiring a Fleet Manager on behalf of a well-established and growing transportation organization in Ottawa, ON.

Key Responsibilities
Fleet & Maintenance Operations
- Oversee preventative maintenance and repair operations for company vehicles and fleet facilities
- Manage maintenance schedules, work orders, repair estimates, and purchase orders
- Coordinate outsourced repairs, warranty claims, and insurance-related maintenance
- Ensure fleet reliability, uptime, safety, and compliance standards are consistently met
- Supervise daily garage/shop operations and support licensed technicians
Procurement & Vendor Management
- Assess vehicle replacement needs and support fleet lifecycle planning
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service agreements with vendors and manufacturers
- Conduct vendor reviews and maintain strong supplier relationships
- Monitor inventory levels, parts usage, and overall fleet cost efficiency
Financial & Operational Oversight
- Track fleet KPIs, maintenance costs, and operational performance metrics
- Support budgeting, cost control initiatives, and financial reporting
- Analyze shop processes and identify opportunities for operational improvements
Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of licensed mechanics and support staff
- Promote a strong safety culture, accountability, and teamwork across operations
- Assist with training, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- 5–7+ years of experience in fleet maintenance, transportation, or related operations
- Minimum 3 years of leadership or management experience within a shop or fleet environment
- Must have 310T license or combined 310S/310T license preferred
- Strong understanding of commercial vehicle maintenance, diesel and gasoline systems
- ODP certification and A/C experience preferred, or willingness to obtain
- Familiarity with Health & Safety legislation and National Safety Code requirements
- Experience with vendor management, procurement, budgeting, and inventory control
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and maintenance reporting systems
- Valid Ontario G Class Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract
- Clean criminal background check required
