Job Summary
Legends Haul is looking for a Senior Food Service Sales & Business Development Manager to help grow our customer base, deepen strategic account relationships, and expand our presence across Vancouver and the Lower Mainland.
This role is designed for an experienced foodservice sales professional and business developer who already understands the industry, has established relationships, and knows how to open doors, build trust, and convert opportunities into long-term customer partnerships.
The successful candidate will bring deep food and beverage knowledge, strong customer relationships, and a proven ability to sell premium foodservice products into restaurants, hotels, caterers, retailers, distributors, and other commercial food operators.
This is a senior, growth-focused role. You will be expected to own customer relationships, develop new business, grow existing accounts, identify strategic opportunities, support product launches, and work closely with internal teams to deliver strong customer outcomes.
Role Responsibilities
- Manage, maintain, and grow a book of foodservice customers across Vancouver and the Lower Mainland
- Build and execute business development plans for target accounts, channels, and customer segments
- Identify and pursue new growth opportunities across restaurants, hotels, catering, retail, institutional, and specialty food channels
- Develop strategic account plans for high-potential customers
- Open new doors through existing relationships, market knowledge, referrals, cold outreach, and industry networking
- Convert qualified prospects into active customers with clear follow-up, product fit, pricing, and onboarding plans
- Present, promote, and sell Legends Haul products using strong value propositions
- Grow sales across centre-of-the-plate proteins, value-added products, local brands, and in-house Legends Haul brands
- Build trusted relationships with chefs, owners, buyers, operators, distributors, and decision-makers
- Identify customer needs, menu opportunities, product gaps, and growth potential
- Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis for existing and prospective customers
- Achieve agreed-upon sales targets, account goals, and growth outcomes
- Monitor account performance, customer buying patterns, and opportunities for increased share of wallet
- Build pipeline visibility by tracking prospects, next steps, probability, and expected value
- Support the launch of new products, brands, programs, and customer-specific opportunities
- Work with leadership to identify market gaps, competitive opportunities, and new revenue streams
- Represent Legends Haul professionally at customer meetings, tastings, trade events, and industry functions
- Provide market intel, competitor feedback, customer insights, and product opportunities to management
- Support pricing conversations, product launches, flyers, promotions, and strategic sales initiatives
- Coordinate sales efforts with internal departments including order desk, operations, production, purchasing, finance, and management
- Receive and support customer orders when needed via phone, email, online systems, text, or in person
- Review customer orders for accuracy and help resolve issues before they become customer problems
- Investigate discrepancies related to invoices, returns, shorts, credits, pricing, product quality, or delivery
- Help create practical solutions to customer concerns while protecting company margin and process
- Maintain accurate account notes, call sheets, sales activity, pipeline updates, and customer records
- Communicate customer risks, opportunities, and key account updates clearly to management
- Assist accounts payable with collecting overdue accounts when needed
- Participate in scheduled sales meetings, planning sessions, and account reviews
- Provide occasional coverage or support for other sales reps, customers, or special projects
- Follow all company procedures, values, policies, and safety requirements
- Complete other duties as assigned by management
Role Qualifications
- Approximately 5+ years of foodservice sales, business development, or account management experience in food and beverage
- Established relationships within the Vancouver / Lower Mainland foodservice industry
- Proven track record of growing sales, managing accounts, and developing new business
- Experience building pipeline, opening new accounts, and converting prospects into active customers
- Strong understanding of restaurants, hotels, catering, retail food, grocery, butcher, deli, institutional, or food distribution channels
- Experience selling meat, seafood, poultry, centre-of-the-plate proteins, specialty foods, or premium food products is a strong asset
- Strong commercial understanding of pricing, margin, product mix, account profitability, and customer value
- Strong communication, negotiation, organization, and follow-up skills
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience with order-entry, CRM, ERP, or pipeline management systems is an asset
- Ability to work independently while staying aligned with the broader team
- Comfortable working hybrid, with time spent in the East Vancouver office and on the road
- Up-to-date driver’s abstract may be required upon job acceptance
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence required, Reliable transportation required for customer visits
About You
You are a proven foodservice sales professional with strong industry relationships and the confidence to walk into accounts as a trusted advisor. You understand chefs, operators, buyers, margins, menu needs, product quality, service expectations, and the pace of the industry.
You are both a relationship manager and a hunter. You know how to maintain great accounts, but you also know how to open doors, build pipeline, and create new opportunities.
- A senior seller with established relationships in the Vancouver / Lower Mainland foodservice market
- Experienced in selling food, beverage, protein, specialty food, or centre-of-the-plate products
- Comfortable owning and growing a book of business
