Reliable is seeking a General Manager (“GM”) to oversee operations at several company locations. We are searching for talented managers who can manage several locations and have the flexibility to travel regularly between the locations and Reliable’s head office in Surrey, BC. Our immediate requirement is for an individual in the southern interior of BC (i.e. Salmon Arm, Revelstoke, Golden, Merritt, etc.).
The GM is responsible for ensuring each location delivers its strategic and financial goals and integrates seamlessly within the company’s strategic goals. The GM will lead the way in developing a cohesive, team-based culture at each location and help us be THE employer of choice in our industry. We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, and highly organized professional. This position will be responsible to coordinate with Reliable’s leadership, utilize available resources and manage all aspects of the individual locations. With coordination with Reliable’s senior management, the following aspects are the GM’s primary responsibilities:
1. Operational Leadership
- Supervise day-to-day operations, including scheduling, dispatch, technicians, and repair staff.
- Maintain clean, well-equipped facilities and enforce high service standards.
- Support the team in achieving financial and operational performance goals.
- Be willing to step in and support frontline operations when required.
2. Customer & Business Focus
- Drive revenue and profitability through service excellence.
- Resolve escalated customer issues and ensure consistent service quality.
- Monitor customer trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
3. Team Management & Culture
- Recruit, coach, and retain a high-performing team.
- Conduct regular performance check-ins and provide clear expectations.
- Build a positive, safety-driven, and accountable workplace culture.
4. Fleet & Equipment Oversight
- Oversee shop operations and ensure equipment and tools are maintained.
- Manage preventative maintenance schedules and coordinate external repairs.
- Control repair costs and minimize operational downtime.
5. Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Lead regularly scheduled safety meetings with all staff.
- Ensure full compliance with provincial and federal regulations.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture at all times.
6. Communication & Reporting
- Communicate clearly and effectively with internal teams and leadership.
- Track and report on operational performance and shop KPIs.
Required Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in business, transportation & logistics, or related field would be an asset.
- 3-5 years of management experience in fleet services, automotive repair, or service operations.
- Knowledge of fleet equipment, maintenance procedures, and regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with National Safety Certificate requirements.
- Ability to relocate, if required.
- Extensive travel will be required.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License required; commercial license or mechanical background is an asset.

- Southern Interior BC, flexibility on “home location.”
- Travel to company locations in Western Canada.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
