Location: Etobicoke, ON
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Salary: $95,000 based on experience with great company benefits
Additional Compensation: Sign-On Bonus + Annual Performance Bonus
Position Overview: Fleet Maintenance Supervisor (Garage Foreman)
We are seeking a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to join a fast-paced transportation and logistics operation. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing maintenance shop activities, coordinating fleet repairs and preventative maintenance programs, and ensuring vehicles are maintained to the highest safety and operational standards. The successful candidate will provide direction to technicians, support operational efficiency, and help minimize fleet downtime.
Key Responsibilities: Fleet Maintenance Supervisor (Garage Foreman)
- Lead and coordinate daily maintenance shop operations and repair schedules.
- Supervise, mentor, and support a team of technicians and maintenance personnel.
- Assign, prioritize, and monitor repair and preventative maintenance work.
- Ensure fleet assets are serviced and returned to operation in a timely manner.
- Provide technical guidance and assist with troubleshooting complex mechanical issues.
- Monitor shop productivity and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with vendors, suppliers, and external service providers when required.
- Review completed repairs to ensure quality standards and safety requirements are met.
- Track maintenance performance metrics and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage employee attendance, scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
- Promote compliance with workplace safety regulations, company policies, and maintenance procedures.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure fleet readiness and operational reliability.
Qualifications & Experience: Fleet Maintenance Supervisor (Garage Foreman)
- Valid 310T Truck and Coach Technician License or Red Seal Certification.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial fleet maintenance or a related mechanical environment.
- Previous leadership experience as a Supervisor, Foreman, Lead Hand, Service Manager, or similar role preferred.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, preventative maintenance programs, engines, braking systems, and fleet repair operations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage performance, and develop technical staff.
- Experience using computerized maintenance management or fleet management systems.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to improve fleet reliability, reduce downtime, and support operational goals.
- English communication skills required to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
