Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced MOA to join our primary care team.

This is initially a 6 month contract position with the potential for ongoing contract renewal.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Accompany patients to examination rooms and assist in taking and accurately recording patient histories, vitals, weights and measurements as required
Assist with clinical tasks and procedures under physician direction
Triage phone calls using a multi-line phone system
Accurately schedule, manage and communicate patient appointments
Process incoming faxes and messages in a timely and accurate manner
Communicate (written and verbal) accurately and professionally with team members, patients, and other healthcare facilities and providers
Create invoices, process payments and issue receipts for uninsured services

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Medical Office Assistant graduate, or PSW with Primary Care medical office experience
Completion of the Injection Course and/or training and experience administering injections is preferred
Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced, team-based, clinical environment
Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly, professional and compassionate approach to patient care
Strong work ethic, highly organized, detail-oriented
Experience with Telus PS Suites EMR is a definite asset
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Highly proficient knowledge and use of medical terminology and accurate spelling is imperative
Reliable, dependable and punctual attendance
Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with all privacy and workplace policies

Additional Information:

This is not an entry-level position
Only applicants with experience will be considered
The role is approximately 60% clinical support, and 40% administrative support
