Business Development Engineer
The primary responsibilities of the successful applicant will include generating design proposals for connectors and creating a cost matrix for both new and existing programs. The candidate must have a comprehensive understanding of ACC’s product lines and capabilities, as well as the ability to provide technical support to field sales and internal personnel. The ideal candidate will be a self-confident, detail-oriented individual with persistence. Performance will be evaluated based on the promptness of responses, the creativity of design proposals, and the accuracy of cost estimates. This position involves significant interpersonal contact and requires the ability to thrive under pressure to increase design wins and drive order/sales growth.
What does a Business Development Engineer do?
- Develop and present design proposals to customers
- Review and interpret customer specifications to ensure alignment with product capabilities
- Prepare cost analyses and present recommendations to management for informed decision-making
- Lead the launch of new programs or products, coordinating across teams to ensure successful rollout
- Collaborate closely with marketing, engineering, purchasing, and new program coordinators to support business objectives
- Travel with the sales team to build relationships and drive business growth within the region
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue opportunities in new markets or with potential customers for both existing and new products
What you bring to the table
Must have:
- Engineering degree
- 3–5 years of relevant experience
- Proficient in MS Office
- Proficient in design software (SolidWorks or other 3D modeling tools)
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, essential for collaborating with teams and engaging with customers
- Basic understanding of cost and pricing
- Able to travel internationally as needed
- Confident in giving presentations
Desired:
- Experience in connector design, including understanding of mechanical and electrical requirements, materials, and manufacturing processes
- Background in mechanical engineering or as a mechanical technologist, with experience applying engineering principles to product development and problem-solving

The base salary range for this position is $75,000 – $90,000 annually. In determining the rate of pay, Amphenol considers a variety of nondiscriminatory factors, including but not limited to geographic location, relevant industry experience, qualifications, skills, and education. It would be rare for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for a given role. Base salary is one facet of Amphenol’s total rewards package which includes participation in our comprehensive benefits program with medical, dental, and vision benefits, vacation, sick leave, paid holidays, life insurance, short/long term disability, and membership in our Defined Contribution Pension Plan. Our employees are also eligible for participation in an annual incentive bonus program based on their position.
