Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Accounting Associate to join our Accounting/Finance team.

Position: Accounting Associate
Location: Brantford, Ontario

In this dynamic role, the Accounting Associate will have a strong focus on accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, while also supporting the team with various accounting functions. This is an existing position and involves handling vendor invoices, organizing check runs, creating invoices for customers, and managing outstanding accounts receivable. As part of our collaborative team, we’re looking for someone who is flexible and eager to take on new challenges as they arise. You'll work closely with the Accounting Manager, Director of Finance, and the Senior Management Team to support a wide range of accounting activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage all accounts receivable tasks, including invoicing and follow-ups on outstanding payments.
Handle all accounts payable tasks, including vendor invoice entry and check runs.
Assist in financial analysis and reporting as needed.
Support general accounting duties as required.
Provide general office administrative assistance.
Address and resolve customer inquiries.

Qualifications:

Completion of a 2-year Business Diploma, preferably with an Accounting focus.
2 years of experience working in an accounting department.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Familiarity with Google Sheets.
Strong data entry skills.
Ability to work accurately under tight deadlines with excellent time management.
Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on customer service.
Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Adaptable and open to learning new tasks as the company grows.
Own transportation is required.
