Production Coordinator

Location: Vaughan, ONDepartment: OperationsReports To: Operations Master Scheduler

Position Summary

The Production Coordinator is responsible for coordinating daily manufacturing operations to ensure production schedules, customer requirements, and operational priorities are achieved. Acting as a key liaison between Production, Quality, Engineering, Purchasing, and Shipping, the Production Coordinator supports workflow management, production planning, and ERP system accuracy to drive on-time delivery and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and monitor daily production schedules to support customer delivery requirements.
Release, prioritize, and track work orders through all stages of production.
Collaborate with department leaders to identify and resolve scheduling conflicts, bottlenecks, and capacity constraints.
Maintain accurate production data and transactions within the ERP system.
Review work orders, routings, and manufacturing documentation for completeness and accuracy.
Monitor production progress and provide regular status updates to Operations Leadership.
Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, Purchasing, and Shipping to address production issues and support workflow continuity.
Track material shortages and escalate risks that may impact production schedules or customer deliveries.
Generate production reports, KPI summaries, and operational metrics for management review.
Support inventory control activities, work order closures, and production record maintenance.
Participate in operational meetings and assist with continuous improvement initiatives.
Identify opportunities to improve production flow, communication, and scheduling effectiveness.

Qualifications

2+ years of experience in a production coordination, planning, scheduling, or manufacturing support role.
Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with excellent attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems is considered a significant asset.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in aerospace, precision machining, or high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments.
Knowledge of production scheduling, capacity planning, and inventory management.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
College diploma or in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field would be considered an asset.
